IPAG supports urban agriculture in Romainville

19 Jul 2019

The new urban agriculture project in Romainville will emerge with the finalisation of the Tour Mara?chère project at the end of 2019. The IPAG Business School supports this project for marketing and logistics.

While the massive use of fossil fuels, deforestation, intensive livestock and agriculture continue to produce large amounts of greenhouse gases and accelerate global warming, local communities take the measure of ecological urgency.

Romainville, located three kilometers from the French capital, in the department of Seine-Saint-Denis, wishes with this new project Tour Mara?chère, respond to environmental and social issues through a forward-looking approach. By opening new doors to wider reflections such as urban resilience, the city provides access to quality local food products while developing residents' skills and promoting job creation.

Located in the heart of the Marcel-Cachin district, completely requalified from 2007 to 2017 as part of a vast program of urban renewal supported by the National Agency for Urban Renewal (Anru), the Tour Mara?chère project will be located on a plot of 600m2.

Dedicated to urban agriculture, this project aims to combine in a single place multiple complementary activities:

  • a vegetable market;
  • a resource center;
  • a sales area, catering and events.

In the same way as AgroParisTeach, IPAG Business School is involved in this project by accompanying this urban agriculture project and by participating in calls for proposals of European funding.
